Shefqet Avdush Emini:
"I can express my emotions the easiest through the colours, lines and brushes then when I speak. I think that the paintings are the honest expression of my communication with the world".
Q: Hi Shetqet, we know that you born in Davidovc, Kosovo in 1957. In 1994 you moved to Holland, How do you think that afecct at your art? A: When I look at my work in Kosovo and in Holland it has become more abstract with warm colours.
Q: Have you always been interested in arts? When did you discover that art would be an important part of your life?A: I have been interested in art since I was a little child and I always knew that I was going to be a great artist.
Q: How did you get started in the art world? A: I showed my work to people and saw that they liked it. So later I started to exhibit in different spaces/galleries.
Q: You studied at Fine Art Academy in Prishtina, Kosovo. Can you discuss that experience. For example, Did you have any influential instructors at that time?A: I tried always to be original, I did not have influential instructors. For me it was important to show my emotions to the people.
Q: What can you tell us about your influences? Where do you find inspiration?A: In that time Rembrandt was my idol, but I do not think that I was influenced by him. Although he lived in another time I liked his paintings.
Q: All your artworks on meseon are paintings, Do you practice other techniques as sculpture or photography? Why?A: Yes I practice different techniques: drawing, guash, aquarelle, acryl, oil and sculpture. I use different kind of materials. Sometimes mixes with metal and another dust, I work with stones, for example: marble, granite and the most with ceramics.
Q: Why do you choose painting as a means of expression?A: Because I can express my emotions the easiest through the colours, lines and brushes then when I speak. I think that the paintings are the honest expression of my communication with the world.
Q: What concept are you showing to your viewers? What would you like say with your artworks?A: The world continues and the world has different colours…. I express my world through my art and I allow people to see my world. I am not afraid to open the dors of my world.
Q: What was your most important exhibition? Could you share that experience?A: All my exhibition are very important. It’s difficult to choose. I am glad that I have exhibit in many countries. Sometimes it’s not possible to exhibit in all places where I got the invitations from. I have very good experience every were.
Q: Could you talk about the procedures that you use in your artworks? Preparation, development and finishing.A: I am an expressive artist. I do not use preparation, with a strong feeling I get strong work.
Q: On average, how long does it take to create a piece?A: That is always different, it depence from emotion.
Q: What do you feel when you're finished a artwork?A: I feel happy and free from inside.
Q: Have you gone through various artistic stages until reaching where you are today?A: Yes I have gone through various artistic stages, from realistic paintings till the last stage figurative abstract expressionism.

Q: Could you tell us something about you are currently working?A: I continue working in abstract expressionism with colour full inside feelings.
Q: Have you got some anecdote that you wish share with meseon community?A: I am someone how listens more to anecdote than how tells ones.
Q: Why do you create art?A: To live in peace and to let people enjoy my work.
